Blue Lake is a spring fed lake near the Utah - Nevada border. It is known for its warm waters, good visibility, and light blue color. Blue Lake is popular scuba diving and snorkeling destination, but is not well known by fisherman. It does however contain a good sized population of largemouth bass, Bluegill, and Tilapia (an invasive species). Possible Catch:Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Tilapia. Regulations:All Tilapia caught must be killed. Directions: Take I-80 west to Wendover. Take exit 410, go south, then east on Wendover road. Go South on US-93 for about 15 miles. Watch for the "Blue Lake" sign and take the dirt road east. When you hit the old paved road at about 1 mile, go
right, then exit left on gravel again about 100 yards later. At the next fork in the road
at 5.5 miles, go left, then take the next right about a half mile later. |
