Albino Trout -

Albino trout fish species information, Utah.

There is nothing better than catching a limit of beautiful yellowish gold and silvery white albino rainbow trout. They are pretty looking fish, with physical features identical to the rainbow, except their coloration. Their color is a disadvantage, because they can be spotted easily against dark backgrounds and are easy picking for anything that preys on them (including us). Adult albinos are a little more cautious than regular adult rainbows, which usually means they are harder to catch. They fight just as hard as a rainbow and can be taken using the same baits, lures, and techniques as when going for hatchery rainbows. When you catch some be sure to wow some guests at your next barbecue, because they taste just as good as the rainbow version.

This fish actually is stocked substantially in Utah's urban ponds, lakes and reservoirs by the DWR (department of wildlife resources) stocking programs. So theres a good chance you will catch one of these albinos.
